Q: How can you offer this quality of construction for the price they are being sold for?
A: Multiple reasons...
-
The architect and engineering have already been paid for. This could save you anywhere from $25,000 - $50,000+ depending on your location and the size of the build. We have tastefully designed each unit in detail and will be building the same floor plan over and over so the savings get passed on to you.
-
Permits: We include the permitting on each project to make the entire process as easy as possible for each customer. This saves months of planning.
-
Knowing exactly what we are going to build upfront means we can order the construction materials ahead of schedule which greatly reduces delays.
-
Because there are no change orders this again reduces delays.

Q: Why do you use shipping containers vs. steel/metal construction?
Note: We do offer concrete/block construction as an option.
A: Quality is one of the most important factors that you will see with every Custom Casita. Once we looked into building out of insulated panels which are very strong and well insulated we found that a High Cube refrigerated shipping container has the same material, and the shell is already built/insulated. Because the structure/shell comes mostly complete, this gives our clients the same quality product in less time. By using two High Cube containers and fabricating them together we created one of the strongest and smartest homes built today. These homes are better insulated and much faster to complete than a traditional build, without compromising quality. The biggest obstacle was not the material but rather the design and look. Most shipping container homes are ugly. We teamed up with a sought-after home designer in Guanacaste to create a masterpiece.

Q: Why do you offer concrete homes if the container/metal homes are so great?
A: The biggest benefit is that we can offer a 9-foot interior ceiling height compared to the 8-foot interior ceiling height with the metal construction.
